Part of the ‘Yorkshire Critters’ group of craftsmen, Colin Almack (who sadly died in 1996) was trained under the famous Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson’ at his workshops in Kilburn, Yorkshire.
He left in 1960 to set up his own business.
He left in 1960 to set up his own business.
In keeping with his early apprenticeship, he obviously needed his own mark.
A beaver was chosen and Beaver Furniture was set up.
As was his nickname ‘beaverman’.
Here we have a 1960’s tea trolley.
Of three-tier form with carved supports ending in castors.
And obviously with his famous carved beaver trademark.
Made form solid english oak.
A must have for the collectors obviously.
But it’s also a wonderfully functional piece, so would look good in any home.
with an added back story to boot to entertain guests with!
