Vintage Design
Erich Dieckmann studied at the Bauhaus – State School of Crafts, where he became assistant manager of a furniture workshop after Marcel Breuer left. At the Bauhaus School, Erich Dieckmann worked mainly on the development of furniture seat types. Like Marcel Breuer, Dieckmann experimented with steel tubes. Diekmann’s most important work is standard, simple, wooden furniture. The structure of the seat is strictly geometric, with a frame made of wood, square, arranged at right angles. Another typical feature of Erich Dieckmann furniture is the combination of armrests and chair legs into a single structure.
